Ask Questions to Gain Awareness

It all begins with attention. But see, we don’t all see things the same way. Becoming aware of ourselves and others begins by paying attention through noticing, observing, and listening.

It isn’t always easy to know what people are really thinking or feeling, including ourselves. Acknowledging that there’s confusion can help relieve some of the “is it me? Am I the only one who’s confused?

What’s going on?

  • Look and listen to what is really going on.

  • What do you see and/or hear?

  • What connections/relationships are present?

  • What are situations happening around me?

What seems clear and makes sense?

What you notice and pay attention to may seem to be clear, make sense, and seem typical.

What is confusing, unclear, or “not quite right”?

Trust yourself.

If something feels wrong to you, it probably is.
